This Privacy Policy describes how PadelUP ("we", "our" or "the App") collects, uses and protects the personal information of users. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Italian privacy laws.

1. Data Controller

2. Data We Collect

2.1 Account Data

  • Email: Used for authentication and essential communications
  • First and Last Name: Optional, to personalize your experience
  • Profile Photo: Optional, image URL if provided
  • Phone Number: Optional, only if you choose to add it to your profile
  • Authentication Method: Email/Password, Google Sign-In, or Apple Sign-In

2.2 Match Data

  • Scores, sets and games of each match
  • Date, time and duration of matches
  • Names of 4 players (entered manually)
  • Playing positions (left/right)
  • Chosen game mode
  • Complete point sequence (if enabled)

2.3 Location (Only on explicit request)

Only if you authorize location access, and solely at the moment you record a match, we use your location to:

  • Automatically recognize the club where you are playing
  • Show your matches on a map and filter statistics by club

Note: location is requested only while using the app, never in the background, and is never tracked continuously.

2.4 HealthKit Data (Only on explicit request)

Only if you explicitly authorize access to Apple HealthKit, we collect during matches:

  • Heart rate (minimum, maximum, average in BPM)
  • Calories burned (kcal)
  • Distance covered (meters)
  • Workout duration

Note: HealthKit data is processed locally on your device and is NEVER transmitted to our servers.

2.5 AI Assistant

When you use the app's AI assistant, the following are processed to generate responses:

  • The messages you write in the chat
  • Game statistics relevant to your request

Note: processing is carried out through a specialized third-party artificial intelligence service provider, bound by data protection agreements. Your content is not used to train models nor sold to third parties.

2.6 Subscription and Purchase Data

  • Plan type (Free, Trial, PRO)
  • Subscription start/expiry dates
  • AI credits balance (included in the plan or purchased separately)
  • Apple transaction ID (managed by Apple)

Note: We do not have access to your payment data. All payments are handled directly by Apple through the App Store.

2.7 Technical and Diagnostic Data

To ensure stability and improve the app, we collect technical data:

  • Error and crash reports
  • Performance data (response times, malfunctions)
  • Interactions with app features, in aggregated form

Note: this data is used solely to diagnose issues and improve the experience, not for advertising profiling.

2.8 User Settings

  • Game rule preferences
  • Default player name
  • Preferred playing position
  • Heart rate notification settings
  • Audio and theme preferences

Data We DO NOT Collect

  • No advertising tracking - We don't use advertising SDKs or marketing profiling
  • No data selling - Your data is never sold to third parties
  • No continuous location tracking - Location is used only at the moment to recognize the club, never in the background
  • No use of your content for AI training - Messages sent to the assistant are not used to train models

3. Purpose of Processing

We use your data exclusively for:

  • Providing the service: Managing matches, calculating statistics, syncing data between devices and offering the AI assistant
  • Account management: Authentication, password recovery, essential communications
  • Managing subscriptions and purchases: Verifying PRO, trial or free status and managing AI credits
  • Improving the app: Fixing bugs and improving user experience through technical and aggregated data

4. Sharing with Third Parties

Cloud Infrastructure

We rely on cloud infrastructure providers for authentication and secure data storage. Servers are located in the EU/USA with GDPR-compliant safeguards.

Artificial Intelligence Services

The AI assistant features rely on a specialized third-party provider that processes the content needed to generate responses. It is bound by data protection agreements and does not use your content to train its own models.

Apple HealthKit

HealthKit data remains on your device and is protected by Apple encryption. We never transmit it to our servers.

Purchases and subscriptions are managed by Apple and its service providers. We do not have access to your payment data.

5. Data Retention

  • Account data: Retained while the account is active
  • Match history: Retained while the account is active (FREE: last 10 matches visible)
  • Subscription data: Retained for tax obligations (up to 10 years)
  • HealthKit data: Not stored on our servers (local only)

6. Your Rights (GDPR)

In accordance with GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Access: Request a copy of your data
  • Rectification: Correct inaccurate data
  • Erasure: Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten")
  • Portability: Receive your data in a readable format
  • Objection: Object to processing for marketing (which we don't do)
  • Restriction: Restrict processing in certain circumstances

How to Delete Your Account

You can delete your account and all associated data at any time:

  1. Open the PadelUP app on iPhone
  2. Go to Settings → Account
  3. Select "Delete Account"
  4. Confirm deletion

7. Data Security

We adopt technical and organizational measures to protect your data:

  • Data encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS)
  • Data encryption at rest on our servers
  • Secure authentication
  • Security rules for data isolation between users
  • No access to payment data

8. Minor Users

PadelUP is not intended for users under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal data, contact us to request its removal.

9. Changes to Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify you of significant changes through the application or by email. We encourage you to check this page periodically.
